Thank You

God tells us in His Word that He loves a cheerful giver. We're also told that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Cheerful giving provides an opportunity to bless others and opens a door for God to bless us.

Why We Give

Because everything we have is His
We are the Lord’s and everything we have has been given to us. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, the world, and those who live in it.”
It is God’s desire that we give, and we receive blessing by so doing
  • 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 – Now I say this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows generously will also reap generously. Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
  • Hebrews 13:16 – And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
  • Romans 12:13 – Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
To support those who are in need
1 John 3:17-18 – But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him? Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
To support the ministry
1 Timothy 5:17-18 – The elders who lead well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox while it is threshing,” and “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”
